FAQ - Procare Check-In Solutions
To operate the check-in/check-out functions of Procare, you'll need a check-in computer networked to your main administrative computer.
When electronically checking in/out parents or employees, it is ideal that you set up a computer dedicated solely to the task so there are no interruptions of usage on your administrative machines. Ideally, the check-in computer should be placed near your main entry for easy access by parents and staff.

Q: What is the cost?
The 8” Touch is a commercial grade all-in-one touch screen computer.
- Wired Network: $995
- Wireless/Wired Network Touch: $1090. This unit allows for both.
Additional S&H fees will apply. Financing is NOT available on Procare 8” Touch units.

Q: How quickly is the unit delivered after placing order?
Delivery time from manufacturer is 7-10 days.

Q: How do I install the software and connect the check-in computer to my administrative machine(s)?

Q: What do I need to run Check-In?
The 8” Procare Touch is a commercial grade all-in-one touch screen computer that includes the following:
- Universal Mount - wall/desktop option
- Built in Biometric ID Pad or use the integrated Card Swipe reader for recognition.

Q: What add-on options are available?
Since the 8” Touch comes standard with integrated options for Biometric ID Pad or Card Swipe, the only other items to consider is if your state requires the capture of signatures and if you want door access control.

Q: What is the warranty?
Manufacturer's Warranty. 3 Year Parts and Labor. Depot repair at Manufacturer's facilities: Oregon, New Jersey, Texas.

Q: Is one option better than the other?
No. Both are fully networkable computers with the differences being:
- Screen size (8” Touch vs. larger screen size available for PC monitors)
- Mounting ability (Touch includes universal desk/wall mount. A standard PC sits on a countertop)
- Footprint (The Touch is smaller and all-inclusive so it takes up less space)
- Cost (The 8” Procare Touch is around $1000 while standard PC’s/laptops/tablets start around $500)
- Overall Appearance (Touch screen capability and high tech look are popular features with the Procare 8” Touch)
- Inclusive add-on options (Biometric ID and card reader are included with the Procare 8” Touch while they are add-on options if you use your own PC)
Both options provide the same benefits of capturing check-in/out times and communicating with your administrative computers on your center’s local area network. Either option will also work with our Data Hosting Service.
If you don’t need a small, wall-mountable unit like the Procare 8” Touch, a standard PC/laptop/tablet is fine and is often more cost effective. However if space, “wow-factor” and integrated features are attractive, then the Procare 8” Touch may be ideal for you.
