Chemung Valley Montessori

My ProCare Story

My name is Lee Gaylord. Eleven years ago I started working as the director of the Kaleidoscope Program at the Chemung Valley Montessori School in Big Flats, NY. I had a pencil and a clipboard with a sign out sheet on it. That was the extent of my technology back then. Oh, and a calculator, I forgot that! I calculated every single bill individually for each child. I spent a lot more time doing billing than anything else. The following year, a parent volunteer created an Excel spreadsheet for me. Then I just had to enter each child’s hours each day and it would calculate how much was owed by that family. It was getting a bit easier... but I still spent many hours each month on billing, and trust me, this was not the fun part of my job!

Five years ago, being more computer savvy, I started investigating software solutions to this time consuming problem of billing. After checking out a myriad of possible programs, I chose ProCare Software and have been a “happy camper” ever since. ProCare allows my parents to Sign In on a Computer — I can check attendance at the click of a button, Post Bills with another click and create my Sign Out Sheets with one more click — all in a few minutes time. I even created a school directory in minutes, yes minutes!

ProCare is an easy to use program with Great Customer Service. Whenever I have called for technical support my problem is resolved quickly and pleasantly. I am so happy that I found this company. It allows me to use my expertise — which is not accounting — more efficiently and effectively. Thanks ProCare!

About Chemung Valley
Montessori School

Founded in 1974, CVMS is conveniently located on three partially wooded acres in western New York. We offer a fully-certified Montessori Program at the preschool, kindergarten, elementary and middle school levels.

Kaleidoscope, the before and after school program, is closely aligned with the philosophy of Maria Montessori. The mission of Kaleidoscope is to create a safe, loving environment where each child has the opportunity to thrive and grow. Children participate in a variety of activities from working in the outdoor classroom — planting, recording rainfall or harvesting strawberries, to making their own “worry dolls” after a study of Guatemalan culture, to practicing their instruments and having impromptu jam sessions!
