Hello and good morning, good afternoon, everyone. Excited to have you here with us today for a very special guest, Mr. Tai, joining us here to talk about how we can refill our cup before August hits this year. As we’re getting started, I just wanna take a few moments to do some housekeeping items, make sure everybody is familiar with how we’ll run the webinar today. First of all, I’ve seen many people already jumping in there, but if you haven’t yet, please make sure to locate the question and answer box, and we will do our best to communicate with everyone through there during the webinar, as well as if you guys have any questions for Mr. Tai or anyone here, we will do our best to follow-up with those and answer as many as we can after today’s presentation. A few other things, exciting things I just wanna share with everyone. So if you are here as a live attendee, you are automatically entered to win a one hundred dollars Amazon gift card. All you have to do is stay through the presentation and we will announce the live winner at the end before we get into our Q and A. Apart from that, you guys will also notice there is a QR code on your screen and a link to provide some feedback from our webinar. It’s just a survey, but everybody who answers that survey also gets entered in to win another one hundred dollars Amazon gift card. So there are two opportunities to win there. All right, a couple more things just so again to explain if you haven’t been to one of our webinars before. First of all, do not worry, we can’t see or hear you as we have video and sound off for the audience during the presentation. Again, we will have Q and A at the end, so we’ll do our best to answer your questions after Mr. Tai has finished his presentation. If you’re running into any technical difficulties, the best thing to do is just refresh or restart the page and exit out of any other software that might be causing some issues for you. And then lastly, because I know people will ask, yes, there will be a recording of the webinar available for everyone who signed up after it is done. So you can look forward to that in the next coming days. All right, well, I’m gonna go ahead and get out of the way and get to our guest speaker who’s joining us today. Mr. Tai, I’d like to turn things over to you so that you can share with us about how we can refill our cups for August. Thank you, thank you, thank you. So thank you so much, Mr. Zak, and hello to everyone. Hello, hello, hello. I am literally, so I think this has to be like my fourth, fifth, maybe even more presentation with ProCare. However, I just found out how to look at the attendees name and I’ll see the company’s name, okay? And first off, I can see part of it. Oh, okay, okay, okay, okay. Now I redid it, okay? So Joyful Noise, hello. QI School, hello. Little Lucky, hello. Southside something, hello. Kiddie Academy, hello. Leaf Spring, hello. Bridgeway, hello. Kid City, hello. Let’s see, let’s see Chestnut hello, Sugar hello, and now that I have already went through some of the people and said hello to you, all right? Hello, now I have a question for you and I want you to answer this question in the chat before I get started, all right? And the question is simply this, when you ended the school year last year, how did you end the year? Did you end the year saying that I am tired, I am so glad that it is summertime, I don’t have to teach this curriculum no more, little Johnny and I’ll never miss a day of school, I got to see him for a few weeks, maybe hopefully he take a summer vacation. Was that your mindset, okay? And then I wanna do you a favor before you answer that in the chat. It’s okay if it was your mindset, okay? You know, I have to keep it real all day long every day, all right? It’s okay if that was your mindset today. We’re gonna talk about how to shift that mindset. And the first thing that I want you to do is as you go back into your school year, August is coming up swiftly, I want you to do this one thing above everything that I’m about to talk about. I want you to remember your why, okay? I want you to remember why you got started. I want you to remember why you said that you were a great infant teacher. I want you to remember why you said you were a great one year old teacher, two year old teacher, three year old teacher, director, assistant director. I want you to remember why. Why out of all the professions that you could be in, you chose this one. Why? I tell people this all the time when I’m traveling is that I chose this profession. Really, didn’t choose it, it chose me, right? Because I never wanted to work with little children. Always wanna work with older children. But when I got into the field and I began to educate and empower the younger people, I realized that it was healing something on the inside of me. So then it made me realize my why. My why is to give people something that was never given to me. And I want you to understand that no matter where you go to, no matter what center you go to, there is no perfect center. I gotta tell you this before I tell you about your cup. Because half of our cup is empty because we’re literally thinking that the grass is greener on the other side, and if I was the director, I would do this. If I was at this center, they would do it this way. There is no perfect center. There is no perfect center. What you have to do is find one that works best for you, but be sure to contribute to what it is. That’s the way you’re going to truly refill your cup, is when you find something that speaks to you and then you contribute to what that is that’s speaking to you. Let me get into my first point. My first point is this about refilling your cup for August. Your classroom will never outperform you. It it it just won’t. We’re gonna go through these truths. You can’t perform an empty cup. The babies need you at your best. Back to school is coming, ready or not. You you know, ready or not, here I come. Ready ready or not is coming. Now is the time to refill your cup. You should have been going to the mall even if you don’t have no money. You should have been going to the amusement park even if you don’t like to get wet. You should have been doing the things that you know that’s gonna refill your cup. Here’s what I want you to know. When you walk into your classroom, if you’re overstimulated, your classroom is gonna be chaotic. Why are you overstimulated? Because you’re unprepared. Mister Tai, I’m not prepared. Yes, you are. Prepared is not only in your material, prepared is also in your attitude. I’m waking up. Next thing is calm. If you’re calm, then your room is gonna feel safe. Baby, let me tell you this while I’m trying to help you refill your cup. Life is always gonna be life. Hear me and hear me well. There’s always gonna be a problem. There’s always gonna be something coming. Why? Because that’s life. What you’re gonna have to learn to do is while you’re refilling your cup is to find the positive in everything. Everything that you do, everything that you go through, you have got to look back and say, you know what? This may not have been may have not felt good to me, but this is what I learned from it. In every situation, there is a lesson. Okay? The next thing is prepare. When you’re all prepared, your room feels peaceful. Your room feels like I am ready for this day. I’m ready to tackle whatever comes. Alright? And then I want you to do this when you’re refilling your cup. Do some self reflection. Reflect on your classroom. Reflect on the layout. Reflect on the expectations. Reflect on the consistency. Because if you reflect on these things, you’ll be able to make an effective plan for the year to come. I tell people this all the time, little Johnny that maybe get on your nerves, he’s gonna come in and do the same very same thing every day. The question is, are you prepared? Okay. Next thing, stop building Pinterest classrooms and start building peaceful classrooms. Okay. We love Pinterest and I’m gonna add another one. Stop building TikTok classrooms. I know y’all saying, mister Tye, you on TikTok? I am. I am. But I wanna tell you this. Well, I’m gonna let y’all in on my little secret. I never set out to be an influencer for childcare. I never set out to do that. What I set out to do was to make a difference. And because I was making a difference, this is what happened. So there is a difference. Okay? You have got to make this classroom where you’re refilling your cup your personal sanctuary. You have a got to. It has got to be literally your second home, literally, Which means you should care about how clean it is. You should care about how it smells. You should care about all of these things. Why? Because of it, I I promise you, if you make sure that that classroom smells the way you like for it to smell, when you come in in the morning, something’s gonna automatically shift. Why? Because it’s speaking to your five senses. If you make sure this classroom looks the way you need for it to look, yes, your centers have to be a certain way. But there’s a certain way you can stage those toys. You can fit the baby dolls up in the kitchen area. There’s a certain way you can do all of those things. Yes, this refills your cup because you’re being intentional. Bad. Pinterest classrooms cost you sleep. Pinterest classrooms are built for the gram and not the kids, stretches you out to maintain, looks good, but it feels exhausting. Okay? Peaceful classroom are built on routines. You all, I said something earlier about your consistency. When you go into this year, whatever you do, be consistent. Why? Because what’s gonna really refill your cup is when you don’t have to say the same thing over and over and over and over again. The kids know what to do. It’s gonna refill your cup with the fact that I was able to get them to the point where they know what’s expected of them. Refilling your cup is not just about going out to get your nails done, get your feet done, do all those things. That’s not the only thing that will refill your cup. Refilling your cup is also dominating your position. Because see when you dominate your position and you can stand up and you know, I know childcare. You understand me? I know that I’m gonna present my behind off, you understand me? I know that when I leave a presentation, be it in person or virtual, that somebody is gonna be transformed and go back and say, I can do this thing. I remember now why I started. I know that. So now you have to make sure that your classroom is so good that they look back and they say, I know she’s a good teacher. I know that my kids are gonna be learning. I know she’s gonna do her job. I know everything is gonna be alright in her classroom, and it’s gonna refill your cup because you won’t be able to sit back and say, Eve. It’s gonna refill your cup, baby. So what I’m trying to tell you is this, go above and beyond. Show up and show out. It’s gonna refill your cup because then you’re gonna look back and say, can’t nobody do it like me. And, yes, you need that. You do need that. That’s not arrogance. That’s confidence. That’s knowing who you are and what you bring to the table. You can take that into your personal life. Next thing is it gives you your energy back. It gives it back to you. When you’re being intentional in those classrooms, when you’re getting on those kiddos level, and you can look around and see this kiddo came in in August, but now here it is, December, they’re a totally different child. That’s gonna refill your cup. And yes, it’s gonna boost your ego, and let me be the first person to tell you it should. I love y’all. It looks it looks lived in and it feels good, baby. It feels good. Make that thing personal. I’m talking about even to the point where your transition songs speak to you. When they come in in the morning, you playing a song that the kids like, you like, and guess what? Everybody is ready to have a good day. Everybody cup is being refilled. You wanna know why? Because you are pouring into you, you know what’s gonna happen? You’re gonna begin to overflow. And what’s gonna happen is the kids are gonna be able to drink from your overflow. Mrs. Dack, go to the next slide because I’m waking up, I gotta let these people breathe, alright? The next thing is your classroom should pour into YouTube. You know how long you’re gonna be in that room. It should pour into you. It should make you feel good on the inside. Why? When you walk into your home, you picked out the right sofa, you strategically got the right comforter, you got the right plug ins. And I know some of you saying, say, mister Todd, can’t adjust my room. No. You may not have been able to adjust the layout of your room, but you can’t adjust the culture of your room. This is good to me. You can’t address the culture of your room. You can adjust the functionality of your room. You can adjust the behaviors in your room. And you know what that makes that room personal? I’ll never forget when I was in a classroom and they had lunchtime, and sometimes we’ll be short staffed. If know what that if you know what it means to be short staffed during lunchtime, just put in the comments, amen. We were short staffed during lunchtime. And so because I knew my classroom, classroom, because I had cultivated a culture in my classroom, because my core classroom poured into me as well, you know what I told them? Y’all don’t have to worry about me. I can stay in my room for break. It’s okay. I’m good. Because it didn’t drain me. I didn’t need a break for my room. I didn’t need a break for my kids. I was okay. That moment of silence poured back into my cup because I already got the room the way I needed to be to breathe life back into me. Water stations for teachers, comfortable teacher workspace, organized materials. Your room should be organized because guess what? If it’s chaotic out there, it’s gonna be chaotic in here. Prepare transition plans and visual schedules. Why is that helping you out? Because now you go from, all right, boys and girls, it’s time to do this, which you still should do. But it’s something about when the kiddos see that schedule and that picture beside it, they’re able to connect something, which minimizes your load. Consistency is not Mr. Todd telling you, Oh, you want me to be like a robot. Oh, you don’t understand. No, I do understand. I also understand that if you’re consistent, you won’t be burned out come December, okay? A corner just for you. Display what inspires you. Put some positive affirmations on the wall. And guess what? You can you can teach your kiddos those same positive affirmations. Every morning here at Eli, we start circle time with I am beautiful. I am handsome. I am strong or I am smart. I’m sorry. I am beautiful or handsome. I am strong and I am smart and I’m gonna have a great day. You didn’t look in the mirror and tell yourself that before you leave out of the out of the house in the mornings. I am beautiful. I’m the best teacher and I’m going to have a great day. Speak life into you so that you can give life to somebody else. Pour into you what you know you need. Okay? Your playlist. Sweetheart, when I was in my classroom, listen, I love gospel music. Okay? When I was in my classroom, you would think my children went to went to church with me every Sunday because that’s what we played. That’s what I played all throughout the day. And you may not be able to play that at your school. I understand. But you got some favorite nursery rhymes or you can get you some jazz music. That’s your that’s your favorite song. Did they all know the words? It’s just the jazz music, respectfully. Okay? Pour back into you and protect your mornings. Let’s park there. Let’s park there. I want to talk to you about a whisperer morning. Mr. Todd, what you about to tell us? I’m about to tell you how to shift your entire day before you even make it to your car to head to work. Here’s the first thing gonna tell you, if you are a mom, I need for you to get up just a tad bit earlier. If you know that those kiddos gotta be up at six for you to start your routine, get them ready for school, get out the house, be there or work on time, get it in the school on time, get up at five thirty. Yes, the sacrifice. Yes, a lot. But that’s thirty minutes that belongs to you, belongs to you. I wanna set you free for a second. You’re not just a wife, you’re not just a mom, you’re not just a teacher, you are a human being. So you have got to give yourself time to recalibrate and get the day started. Teachers, male or female, you’ve got to stop getting up in the morning, putting your feet on the floor, brushing your teeth, washing your face, washing your body, throwing your clothes on, going out the house. You have literally started your morning out like this. Get your clothes out at night. I’m talking about everything from your from from your socks and everything in between. Get it all out, let out. That way in the morning, you don’t have to iron. You don’t have to do all of that. You have to try to figure out what you what you’re wearing. Everything from your brush to your eyelashes is ready to go. So then you could get up in the morning and you could take your time, you could drink your coffee or your tea, and by the time it’s time for you to really get ready, you have already poured into you. You play that that gospel that that your favorite song that speaks to you and got you hyped and ready to go. You’ve done that. Now that thing gonna transfer over into your car. And if you don’t drive and you’re public transportation, it’s gonna transfer over to your headphones. Now your whole commute there, you just on ten. You just ready. And now when you get through the door, before you go into the door, say that I am going to have a great day. When little Johnny comes in and he on your nerve, say not today. Not today. We’re gonna have a great day. And leaders, you need to start checking the parents before they come into the building. Stop allowing these parents to drop off children that are just crying and screaming, and then now the a player’s gotta go deal with it. Stop it. Stop it. Because that drains me. And now I gotta work a whole eight hours. Y’all got to stand for something. Mom, sit up here and and work with him until he calms down. Because now he’s gonna go into the classroom and disturb the whole classroom. Stand for something. Okay. Go to the next one. Reset your daily flow. Reset your daily flow. Children thrive in predictable environments, okay? When they know what to do and what’s expected of them, they thrive. And here’s what I want you all to know. This thing is really, really good me, especially now that I’m literally sitting in my school doing this presentation and I’m enrolling kiddos. This is good to me. It’s so good to me, it’s not gonna make me cry. Let me tell you this, Y’all have got to stop babying these kids. You’re not tired out. You’re not overworked. And I’m gonna say this even to the leaders because it’s mainly the leaders’ fault because they make you all think that you have to, you gotta stop it. Let me tell you what I’ve witnessed. And why is this important? Because I’m trying to help you keep your cup we fill throughout the year. When that when the first day of school starts, hear me, hear me good. You’re not worried about circle time. You’re not. You’re barely worried about the schedule. Some leader don’t like this. I’m trying to help you. I’m trying to help you keep your a players, and I’m trying to help the a player keep their cup refilled. You’re not worried about the schedule. How can you worry about a curriculum, a schedule, and a routine when they don’t know boundaries yet? They don’t know what’s expected of them yet. No. Your first week or two is establishing the boundaries, establishing the routine, establishing what governs your classroom. Then that second month, then we could implement some curriculum. We can start sticking to the schedule. Why? Because I’ve minimized the behaviors already. I’ve got them established to how I operate in my classroom. Why is this important, Mr. Todd? Because I’m watching it firsthand that teachers get in and they baby the kiddo. Then when they get to the point where you’re having that bad day and this kid still wants you to hold them, still wants you to dump their trash can, still wants you to wash their hands, you don’t have it because your cup is empty. Well, from the beginning you should have been teaching them independence from the beginning. Let me teach you how to take this sheet and cut off your sheet yourself. Let me show you how to get this out of the cubby yourself, and that starts at even at one. That’s why I’m telling you that first month, yes, you’re gonna be exhausted from repeating yourself. But if you do it those first thirty days, you won’t have to do it the rest of the year. Yes, you’re gonna say, No, we don’t do that. No, we don’t do that. No, we don’t do that. No, that’s walking feet. No, because if you do it thirty days, your cup won’t be empty come December. You’ve got to start out the way you plan to hold out with these daily flows. You have to, you have to. Right now, literally, literally right now, it’s a young man that started when did he start? What day is it? Thursday. He started yesterday. Yesterday. I completely told mom because see I’m that leader and leader let me me bust your bubble. Let me tell you something. Stop telling me and your A players that you can’t say it to parents. No, you can say it to parents, you’re scared to say it to parents. I have sat here and I’ve told her just yesterday a parent called me and she said, will you accept the child that’s autistic? I said, to me what he does because I wanna make sure that I can adequately care for him. Now you all would have told me that you can’t do that. I can’t do that. Oh, what are gonna no, no, I never turned them away. And why is this important? Because when you say yes to that child and now that child goes into that classroom that you’re not gonna be in and this teacher has to figure out what to do with it and you know what to do with this child and you know they’re not certified in this area, how do you expect their cup to be filled? How? It’s gonna be empty before they even start pouring it because it’s exhausting when you don’t know what to do. So yes, I said, does he do? Oh, he just doesn’t talk. He’s fine. He doesn’t hit. He doesn’t elope. He doesn’t do any of those things. He just doesn’t talk. I said, okay. We can’t but he’s gonna have to a speech therapist that comes with him. Okay, that’s perfectly fine, I’ll get to work on it. You got to support them the same way you want them to support the kiddos, support them so that their cup can be refilled. Stand for something or you’ll enroll anything. I can’t sit here and present to them, but don’t present to you too. Because they can’t can’t be can’t be filled if you’re not standing up and defending them and putting the business first so that they can know that I have your back. I’m not gonna disenroll anything because I understand that because that comes down to you. I wanna step out. So if I wanna step out, gotta make sure that I protect what’s in here. And when they see you doing that, yes, that cup gets refilled because they feel supported, they feel valued, all of these things. And it ties into their daily routine because now that that’s starting the morning off chaotic, and I yell it all day, and I try to stop kids from doing things they really don’t know what to do. Teachers, in the morning, start off with this calm music, exercises, daily affirmations. Now when you begin to transition into circle time, that’s when you start to let those wiggles out. You start doing some things like jumping jacks while you’re doing ABCs. You start running in place. Your music should shift. Your music should be music that is is a little more is a little more acquire a little bit more energy. Right? Why? Because next, they’re going to open centers. After that, they’re going outside. Then when they get outside, players, you need to run them. You need to run them. I wish every childcare center took the playground equipment off the playground. I wish they did. I wish they just snatched it all up. Because you all need to know that when you get out there with those kiddos and you’re running, you’re hula hooping, you’re playing hide and seek, you’re doing jumping jacks, when they get back inside help me somebody. When they get back inside and they eat lunch, y’all know that about lunch. And they eat lunch, you know where they’re going? Even if they don’t go to sleep and they and they wanna find it, this is gonna be their number. You’ve got to be strategic with your daily flow. Lead the behavior to where you want it to be so that your cup can stay filled all throughout the day. Be strategic. After school, listen, stop. You understand me? I’m here to tell you this in front of your leader. If they didn’t ask you to say it over before nine o’clock in the morning, there’s a word that starts with the end that ends with an O. And you say it like this, no. Go home. Go home. And when you go home, leave work at work the same way I tell you to leave leave home at home because you got to pour back into you. You got to give yourself and your family what they deserve. Drop it. Cut it off. That’s why I tell my team don’t no. We don’t text. Because see a text message, I’m I’m I’m I’m innately gonna wanna figure out what this message is about. An email? I’ll see you in the morning. You have got to put a hard divider in between the two. You’ve got to because if not, you’re not gonna survive, dear love. You’ve got to put a hard divider in between the two. I had to learn that recently because Monday through Thursday, I’m at the school. Friday, I’m on a plane to go whisper doing what I’m doing now virtually, and then I’m doing it all over again. This was the first month that I did not have to work on the weekend. So when Friday came, I don’t care if the building was on fire, call the fire people because I won’t see till about Sunday night when I’m coming in here to get the schedule together and all of sudden and third, why? Because I’ve learned that I got to pour back into me. And I’m not good to you all, Eli, my team, both sets if I’m not good to me first. So be strategic with your daily flow, be intentional with your daily flow. And when that flow is over, when that flow has stopped for the day, go home. Go home and work on your self flow. Okay, all right love. Go ahead to the next one, Mr. Zak, thank you so much. Okay, your energy is the curriculum. Let’s talk about that baby. Let’s talk about that, all right? I wish y’all were in person because I wanna I want you to hear me and hear me good. It’s the same thing that I’m telling my team now. I don’t look for you to be Mr. Todd, the childcare wizard. I do look for you to be your best. You all, these kiddos are different. I want you to turn your listening ears on, okay? I want you to turn your listening ears on for me. These kiddos are different. Mr. Ty, we know that. No, you don’t know that because if you knew that, you’ll be moving differently. When it comes down to your lessons, when it comes down to everything that you’re doing in your classroom, here’s what I want you to say to yourself. If it does not move me, it’s not gonna move my kids. I’m a say that to you again. If it does not move me, it’s not going to move my kids. That’s your lesson, that’s everything. You all have got to become more intentional, more involved with your lesson. You have got to sit down and put in things that you’re going to love, put in things that you are going to enjoy, put in things that make you smile. Why? Because if you think about it, if you have that type have you ever been to a restaurant or somewhere and you’re like, why don’t you even come to work? Right? So now take that into your classroom. You have got to have energy. It is no longer when you’re reading the book, you just and the Med, m e d. You see the color black? Yeah. That’s it. Five stars. Can you count the five? One two three four five. No. No. No. You got to pull out your Rita Rainbow voice nowadays. You gotta pull out your missus Frizzle voice. Now that y’all even know who that is. Y’all got you got to pull out your Blues Clues voice nowadays, baby. You got to be like, and you like to call her black. Oh, yeah. BLACK. You gotta do it. And don’t say, mister Todd, you can’t do that all the time. Yes, you can. And if you can’t, let me tell you something. Help me somebody. It’s a energy drink. If you take one of them before you go to the classroom, you be alright. And if you don’t like those type of energy drinks, go to Starbucks, get you a refresher with extra energy. You have got to have some energy in your classroom. You have got to bring the life back to these rooms. Get on Amazon, get some costumes that if it’s animal week, get an animal costume and give the receipt to your owner. You have or send it back, Amazon takes it back. But you have got to become a child again and embody this experience. Why? Because if you think these kiddos are gonna sit down, crisscross applesauce and listen to your big grown self give them directives, quit. Quit. All day, all night, you’re either either on Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook. You. Then you wanna know why you’re on those things? Because you wanna be entertained. For hours, you can do it. Hours, you can go down a rabbit hole just like this, just be you in your bed. And now you’re gonna send it to somebody. Now ask yourself this question. When your kiddos come in your room for hours, do they have that same reaction? Can they sit and watch you for hours or are you giving a mediocre performance? Can they sit and wanna send their friend a message about how good your lesson was? How good you performed that day. Please hear that I did not say how good you taught that day because we are no longer teaching, sweetheart. We’re performing. These kiddos wanna be entertained. So you’re going to have to become a child again. Yeah, you’re gonna look a little crazy, but you look crazier trying to have a traditional classroom. Kids don’t remember every lesson plan, they remember how you made them feel. And that’s not just children, that’s people too. They will never forget how you made them feel. So go above and beyond. Excitement is con it’s contagious, and so was the dread to come in your classroom. Your present is the lesson some days. Y’all have got to realize the same way y’all were excited to come see me and listen to me for this hour. When you embody the task, which is being an infant teacher, being a taller teacher, being a three year old teacher, being a four year old teacher, after school teacher, cook, janitor, director, assistant director, when you embody that, do you understand how good that day can be? Y’all, every day is gonna have a hurdle. Every day is every day is gonna have a challenge every day. But your attitude, your attitude towards that is what has the capability of shipping the entire day. It’s your attitude, baby. You all know my story. I was flat out homeless homeless in Atlanta during the coldest months of the year. And I still got up and I gave them what I told them I was gonna give them. I gave them what I knew they deserved. Why? Because my name was on it, and it was a representation of me. So you all think I’m telling you to do this for the school. I’m not saying this the way it’s gonna sound. I don’t care about your school. I care about the persons that make up the school. And then to go a little deeper, I care about what’s on the inside of that person. That’s why I don’t like to be called a coach. I like to be called a motivational speaker. Because if I can motivate you from the inside out, you could be a transformed person. You have got to show up every day, every day, despite what has happened, despite what may have happened before you got to work, your energy gotta be on ten. And I know you’re gonna say, Ms. Ty, it’s hard to do sometimes. I know it is. I know it is, sweetie, I know. But hard doesn’t mean impossible. Because anything that you want to do, you can do. The kiddos deserve the best version of you. But most importantly, you deserve for the world to see the best version of you. Every parent, every leader, You want to know how you really, if you really are unhappy with your leader, you really are unhappy with your job, you really unhappy with your classroom, you want to know how you really, really fix that? Be the best teacher you could be because then when they look back and evaluate the situation, they won’t have anything to say about you. It has to be the structure. And if they can’t see that, come to something later, I’ll tell you what to Protect your energy like you protect your lesson plans. Don’t let it drain you. Yesterday, a mom was picking up her child and he has trouble listening sometimes and mommy yell, stop doing that. I said, don’t do that. You ought to stop yelling at the kiddos. Don’t say he don’t do it, know you do it, we’re human. We get upset, especially when you say the same thing fifty thousand times, we’re human. I know I’m not that present, I’m gonna be honest with you, we’re human. But I dare you to stay calm in the midst of a chaotic situation. I dare you. They’re literally going to be confused. It’s just like when you’re in your natural life and you’re going through things, people say, how are you smiling while you’re going through that? Don’t let them, it take you out of character. Always handle everything with grace and class because at the end of the day, when they look back at you, that’s all they’re gonna be able to say. She did her job, she was respectful, he was, he had some class, he never got upset. Your energy got to be on ten because it’s a reflection of you. So now ask yourself this question before we go to the next slide. What do I want people to see and remember about me? I’m gonna say that again. What do I want people to see and remember about me? And what am I doing to contribute to that? Mr. Zak, you may go to the next slide. Build a classroom that runs without you. I’m not even gonna look at my points over here. Let me tell you the first thing, we said consistency, Y’all write that down. The next thing is you need classroom expectations. Stop telling the kiddos, alright, boys and girls, up. Why why do you do that? Why? When you already know when they get in line, we? Why? Why? Let me teach you what you do. And I have to give you experience because I don’t want you to think I’m just talking. I hate presenters that come up and just talk book. Just yesterday, we have a little boy who loves to run, he loves to go. He’s an eloper. That’s what you call it. Research that word because I want you all to start using those terms. He’s an eloper, right? So you know what I told one of my, team members here? I said, every time you get ready to transition, you’re gonna have to make that announcement to him. You’re gonna have to say, okay, we’re about to go. Alright, we’re about to do. Alright, we’re to go outside. When we go outside, I’m gonna say let’s line up when it’s time to go. When it’s time to line up, we need for you to line up. Why? Because you’re gonna come outside again tomorrow. You have to give them the expectations. Some of us had real moms and they said, but when you go in the store, don’t you touch nothing because you ain’t got no money. Some of y’all don’t know nothing about that. That’s the problem. Okay? Then, yes, you need jobs. Let me back up before I get the jobs. You need expectations and you need classroom rules, but not your typical classroom rules that you sat in a webinar or you sat in a workshop or your leader gave it to you, walking feet, gilts or hands, all that. No, no, no, no, You need rules that speak to the problems in your classroom. If you know that you have people that jump off the shelf, what is the rule that you created about jumping off the shelf? If you know you have somebody in your classroom that just hit people, what is the rule that you created to prevent that? And then go over those rules every single day. And then when they break those rules, you don’t get upset, you say, What is the rule for that? Is that what we’re supposed to be doing? That’s called accountability. Okay? The next thing is, yes, I need for you all to have classroom jobs. Classroom jobs that speaks to your kiddos, that your kiddos actually want to do. One little boy here, he loves to clean. Oh my god. He would stack a chair all day. He would get the broom and just sweep, sweep, sweep, sweep, sweep, sweep, Oh, how would I why would I hinder you from being productive? He’s a classroom cleaner. Some of you already have the person in your classroom that has a degree higher than yours. You you already have that person. That’s the classroom president. Create jobs that promote good behavior. Okay? Then the next thing you need is nonverbal cues. What is that, mister Ty? First thing is you need a timer. You need a timer. That way when you can say when this timer goes off, all right, we’re gonna do X, Y, Z. You need a timer. Okay? Next thing you need is a calm down corner. You need a calm down corner. And your calm down corner and your library corner are not the same thing. They’re not. You cannot be having a temper tantrum while someone is trying to read book. There are separate corners and you have to send them to that corner, not put them in the corner, send them to that corner when they are having those big emotions, okay? Then the next thing you gotta do, the final thing you gotta do is you have got to have a plan for your room in your absence. You should have a folder with work in it. That’s on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, this is what you do. You’ve got to, okay? Create a day that runs without you. It’s the same thing that I teach my leaders. Your sinners should be able to run without you. Even if you’re there, they should not need you as much as much as they do. Okay? You can go to the next slide, Zane. Refill before August. You all, let’s talk about it, alright? I need for you all to do something before August. I wanna pull out my calendar so that I can see how many weeks you all have before August. You have two full weeks before August. Two full weeks. I need you to schedule something you love, disconnect from your school email at least for one of those weeks, move your body every day. Let’s talk about that. I need my ECE people to start working out, okay? I need for you to start moving, even if it’s just a walk in the morning. I told you to get up early, go for a walk. You wanna know why? Because a lot of us are out of shape and it’s a lot for us to be in a classroom given energy. When you’re working out, that energy comes naturally. We gotta work out. We gotta take care of our bodies. That’s refilling your cup too. I love when I go to the doctor from my check up, my doctor said, Oh, you got perfect blood You didn’t never work up. You do? You work out? Yes, ma’am. Oh, you ain’t gonna never worry about your blood pressure. Great. Thanks. Okay? That’s that’s that’s good self love. Alright? Reconnect with people who fill your cup. But before you do that, evaluate your circle before you go into August. Evaluate your circle. Evaluate if your circle is pouring back into you the way they should be. Ask yourself, am I just hanging with these people just to have someone to hang with? Or are we really sitting around being productive? Okay, because a lot of times your cup is empty because of what you’re dealing with in your personal life and work is just the icing on the cake. Then read, watch, listen to something non education related. You know what I love? I told someone this the other day. They said, Miss Saad, I’ve been following you for a long time and now that I’m able to actually spend time with you, I get to see a totally different side and I love how you’re always yourself, you’re always you. You don’t let the title dictate what you can and cannot do, I refuse. I refuse. Yes, I’m an educator, yes, I’m known as a childcare whisperer, some people may consider me a public figure, but what I will tell you this above all of that, I am human, Okay? I don’t want to make mistakes, I don’t want to make people mad, I’m going to do a lot of things. I am human. And here’s why I’m saying that, because I need for you to give yourself permission to be human. Now I’m not telling you go out there and be reckless cause I didn’t told you you got to have some class, okay? I’m telling you out there and be reckless. Now I am telling you go out there and enjoy your life cause you only get one, and being a teacher is just a fraction of that life, okay? Write down three reasons you became a teacher. Sleep like your career depends on it. Get some rest, some rest, Remember your why and refill your cup. Love on you. Love on you. Every morning before you’re leaving out of the house. I don’t care if you’re going to the mailbox. Have you ever heard me present in person? You know, I’ll tell you the mailman and mailwoman have benefits. Hello, somebody. So make sure when you go to the mailbox, you like you worth some benefits, all right? Take time for you. Get dressed up for work. Get dressed up for life. Because when you look good, you feel good, you do good. All right? Pour into you. If you know that doing your makeup makes you feel good, why are you leaving out your house with a bare face? Men, if you on here and if you know that a fresh lineup makes you feel good, why are you looking at your like you know you don’t got no like you don’t have a hairline? Go do it. Here’s what I wanna set you free. You don’t have to explain to people why you’re doing what you’re doing. Long as it ain’t nothing crazy. Now go out there and crazy. Long as there are not anything crazy and it refills you, you don’t have to explain that to nobody. But you do have to refill your cup before August. You have to do that. Why? Because the kids are dependent on you. These kids that had a whole summer break. And then even if they weren’t at school, the summer curriculum is a little relaxed and they were in and out out men. Get ready. Get ready, gear up, and remember, nobody can do it like you can do it. So refill your cup so you can show up and show out. Alright? Your cup matters. Your food just needs you full. Alright. I’m ready for some questions. Mr. Tai, Mr. Tai, I just gotta say my ears are burning right now because there’s just been so much heat coming out of these headphones over the past, like not even a full hour yet. And I’m just gonna say like, you came to this webinar feeling like your cup was empty, I mean, my cup overrun it right now. I hope you guys are feeling plenty but there is so much here. Awesome, I’m gonna dive into a few questions here in just a minute. Let’s see, first of all, we did wanna make sure that we would get to announce the winner of our live attendee who will, speaking of filling cups, you’re gonna get to go fill up your Amazon cart here in a minute with a one hundred dollars gift card. And that winner is Haley Schowell. Haley, we’ll follow-up with you here shortly just to send that over your way. Thank you for attending. And here in a minute too, we’ll put up the link to the survey we’re doing. It’s just a webinar feedback survey just to get your thoughts and feedback on our webinars we’re having. And for those who fill that out, they will also be entered to win a one hundred dollars Amazon gift card. Mr. Tai, I see your hand. I have a question. Mr. Zach, has Haley commented in the chat yet? Is she still in the room? Haley, if you haven’t commented yet, she should still be here. I have not seen her. Haley, we need you to comment expeditiously. Hurry up because I got something I wanna say, Haley. You can go ahead, Mr. Zak. And when she comments, just let me know. Absolutely, absolutely. While we’re waiting to hear from Haley, I’m gonna share, there were, some great questions, great questions that people are asking. Wanted to send your way here, Mr. Tai. One of the questions we had earlier, this is from Tanika Brown, and she was asking about, do you think it’s okay for the admin or director to pull teachers out of the classroom for coaching and training around things that are like everyday requirements for teachers? What are your thoughts on that? First, I don’t think thatand this is something that I learned working in KindiCare, and shout out to KindiCare if you all are on here. I would never pull them out, especially from the way I’m hearing the class, this question, it sounds like class is in session. So I would never pull them out of a classroom that’s already in session. That would be something that, hey, maybe we talk about before you clock in the next day or when you clock out later that day, but I would never pull them out to talk about something in that moment. I’m a firm believer that you don’t address things in the moment, not unless, you know, there’s certain things you have to address in the moment, that’s detrimental to the business or the children. But I’m a firm believer that you don’t address things in the moment because one, whether you feel like you’re angry or not, it’s bothering you which is why you wanna address it right then so your delivery is not gonna be correct. Secondly, if someone is doing something in that moment, in that moment they feel like they’re doing it correctly, which means that they’re not even ready to receive what you’re about to say. Why? Because that wall is up, the defense mechanism for you to pull me out of my routine to do this something that’s minute that could have waited. Nobody is anything, right? So I wouldn’t do that. However, I do understand why leaders do that because just like now I’m in the thick of it again, and I’m seeing a totally different work population, so to say, a totally different people that are working. Like people are coming, for fifty thousand dollars a year, but don’t know the basics. And I do mean the basics of how to clean, how to simply show up, how to be professional, how to teach. I’ve been traveling the world empowering and helping people, but they’ve already been started. Like they’re already in the classroom, you know, doing the thing and I weren’t able to see them from the beginning. I am now seeing that so many people only know how to babysit. And if you are a teacher, especially a leader that’s a teacher, it does bother you. And the immediate thing to do is to address it in that moment because it’s bothering you. But you’re gonna have to let it bother you and wait a sec. A players to answer that question and end it, you all have got to learn at least the bare minimum. You have got to. If you’re working with one year olds, I don’t even feel like childhood should really have a curriculum. They shouldn’t need one. Because if you’re working with one year olds and you’re thirty something, you telling me you don’t know what to teach one year olds? You don’t know to grab a color of the week, a letter of the day, and do teach a general natural habit that they a good habit that they need as like sitting at the table or how to hold a fork. You don’t know how to do that. That’s basic. You all have got to learn the basics and how to make it fun even with the basics. Okay. I hope that answers your question. Awesome. Thank you. And just so you know, Haley did, shout out. She says, I’m here. Hailey, where are you located, Hailey? I wanna know where are you located. You can just tell me the, the state in which you’re located. Because if you’re located in any of the states that I’ll be in for my meet and greet tour, I wanna offer you a free spot to one of my meet and greet, tour locations, Hailey, being that you were a winner of the Amazon gift card. So where are you located? Y’all don’t get jealous, alright? She won’t. We’ll keep an eye out for Haley’s response here. I can see that Haley is with Let Them Be Kids and The Hangout. That’s who she’s listed with. Looks like she’s in Utah. Oh, she’s in Utah. Oh, I’m not coming to Utah, but I love Utah because Utah loves me. Okay, Haley, we’re figure that out, okay? We’ll follow-up with you, Haley. Absolutely. Awesome. Thank you so much. All right, let’s just grab maybe one or two more, see if we have some time here. So this is a great question. I know lots of folks asking about this as you’re talking about it. Someone, Clarissa Preston asks, as a director, how do I leave work at work when everyone in my center has all these expectations of me? Oh, that’s good. Oh, that’s so good. Here’s the first thing you gotta do. You gotta set the boundary, right? You’ve got to set the boundary. And here’s what you gotta do. I wanna show you something. This is my to do list. And every day I would sit here and I would beat myself up because I didn’t clear the to do list that day. But you know what I sat here and realized? This is my weekly to do list. So I’m gonna make sure I get it done sometime this week. As long as I get it done sometime this week, of course, I looked at it, I did the emergency thing, I did the things that are urgent. But there are some things that, you know, I can say, you know what, let me take care of this on Friday, let take care of this on Monday, let me take so you have got to create the boundaries. Now understand that you can’t be everything to everybody. And you have got to let them know, One, to carve out a time of your day, well, this is your admin time. Okay? I’m in my office. I’m doing work. Don’t bother me. Do not bother me. I used to tell my team on Fridays, I’m here, but I’m not here. Because if you can’t make it on Friday after you done Monday through Thursday, we’re in a we we got something to talk about. Let them know. Have a meeting, meet with them individually and let them know what it’s going to be, what the expectation is, how your day is going to go and include some office hours, okay? So that you have that balance. Absolutely. Yeah. Like you said, when those expectations are set, it goes a long way to helping you stay stay with them. Let’s see. Let’s see. Let’s see if we have one more question here. I’m gonna look back through and see if we have anyone else who’s got something here. Let’s see. Sorry, folks. Lots of questions. I just wanna make sure we get one more in here from mister Tai. So someone was just asking for you mister Tai, is there a particular routine that you recommend when getting up earlier and they ask about journal prayer, anything else that you would include in that. So for me, what I do is, I get up every morning and I start my day off. I told you I’m a big gospel person. Well, before I get up, I say my prayer. I do not touch my phone. I do not touch my phone until I am completely dressed. Once I am completely dressed, then I touch my phone. I do not look at emails or anything because I am convinced that it’s something in there that’s going to shift my morning. Be it a crazy email, be it whatever, I am convinced that it’s something that’s going to shift my attitude attitude and I don’t want that. So I’m up, I’ve said my prayer, I’m taking my shower, I’m already happy with my outfit because I ironed everything last night, so now I gotta take my shower, get into it, I’m gonna spray my body. All this for me. Don’t care if nobody say you smell good. I need to know that I did this. I didn’t even know that my beard is puffed out. I didn’t even know that my hair is styled and still intact. I didn’t know that my glasses is an accent to my outfit. I need to know those things, okay? So I am doing all these things to pour into me before I get ready to go pour into somebody else. So my whole morning is mine. I do what it takes for me. So I’m not gonna tell you a routine, I’m gonna routine, I’m gonna tell you to do what you like. Maybe you like to light a candle and sit down and sit some tea and read a book, do it. Don’t pick up your phone, do it. Maybe you just need to sit in quiet, Just all the lights off, just sit in quiet before your alarm go off. Do it. Create the routine that you need that brings you peace. Love it. Well said. Well said. All right, everyone. Oh my gosh, so many, I love the questions. I can see this is definitely a major, point of interest for a lot of people right now looking to go ready back to school. They wanna bring their best. And Mr. Tai is here giving us all the wisdom and advice that helps us get there. So thank you again, Mr. Tai, for joining us today. Always a pleasure, sir. And, also just in case you guys haven’t, done it yet, I just wanna remind folks to enter in for that last Amazon gift card, to scan the QR code or follow the link so you can fill out a survey and you’ll get entered in as well. Thank you everybody for joining us today. We hope that this webinar has just been great resource for you. For those who’ve asked, we will absolutely be following up with a recording of this that we’ll send out here just in the next few days. So keep an eye out for an email from ProCare that’ll have the link for this recording. Absolutely feel free to share with your teams. I can see a lot of people are already talking about that. They can’t wait to share with their teams and get them excited and pumped up for the next school year. So wonderful. Thank you again, Mr. Tai. Thank you again, everyone who joined today. We love you guys. We hope that you have a wonderful rest of your summer. Bye bye. Bye bye.
